Your Wedding Flowers Perfectly Preserved

A lovely dried bridal posy of pink roses and rosmary
Capture those precious moments!
Preserving flowers is great fun and can become an addictive hobby. You can buy the dessicant (silica gel) and get lots of excellent advice from www.silicasec.co.uk. But for special occasions, unless you are very experienced, DIY is not recommended as it is unreliable and costly : a typical bridal bouquet like the rose posy above will require nearly six kilos of silica gel at about £10 a kilo, plus proper equipment for drying or pressing, and a lot of skills.

Gone are the
days when flowers were hung up to air-dry or laid for months under
a pile of dusty telephone directories: when properly used, dessicants give
amazing results, and a modern thermal press can dry your flowers in a few
minutes with wonderful colour retention. (left : close-up of the same dried posy) |

The great advantage of dried flowers is their endless versatility. They can be simply made into a dried posy like the ones above and wrapped in cellophane for a low cost display, presented in a glass container or a 3D box frame, made into a wreath, used to decorate a clock, a mirror, a candle... Preserved flowers can be encased in a 3D resin paperweight and delightful pictures can be made with flat-pressed flowers (see our Personalized Gifts page).
Tiny flowers are particularly enhanced by the pressing and drying process and the magnifying
effect of the glass paperweight. Small photos also make lovely cameos or paperweights.
So let us preserve your precious flowers, and keep a lovely memento of your special moments.
Having your wedding flowers professionally preserved can be extremely costly, but The London Flower Box offers various affordable options to suit every budget.
